Estudio Sardina creates objects through the experimentation with materials, focusing on their density and how they interact with light. They celebrate materials that are inherently imperfect, rejecting industrialization and perfectionism. Their apparent simplicity becomes complex through texture, layers, and the varying forms of each piece. The details are defined during the making process, based on the needs of each element and the skills of the artisans involved, resulting in unique objects that sometimes evolve from the initial design.

With the Veracruz lamp, Carlota Coppel, designer at Estudio Sardina, experiments with the translucency of fiberglass. The complexity of this lamp also lies in leveling each part precisely. Every component must be meticulously leveled to achieve the correct shape. Between the fiberglass plates, a smaller steel plate supports the lightbulb and reflects its light.
