NICO, a hotel located in Sayulita, Nayarit, scheduled to open in late 2022, is an architectural project by Hybrid and Palma. The interior design incorporates pieces by emerging Mexican designers, including a diverse selection of designs by Roberto Michelsen. Among these are pieces from “Polines,” a line of furniture made from pine beams, intended to be prominent and central to the design of each piece in the collection. The inherent strength and durability of the beams allow each piece to make a statement in its space—pieces of great strength and weight, designed to last. The project has been documented by Luis Díaz and Alex Herbig with in site photographs, while Ale Guzmán Z, part of Lainvencible.org team documanted some photographs at the workshop.
